Quick checklist (start here)
Are you trying to use @mentions inside Latitude?
- Did you expect names to turn into clickable tags automatically?
- Are you seeing @name stay as plain text?
That's expected behavior right now.
What's supported today
At the moment, @mentions are not supported in Latitude.
This means:
- Typing @someone will stay as plain text
- It will not convert into a clickable LinkedIn tag
- This applies to:
- Drafts
- Scheduled posts
- Posts published directly to LinkedIn
How to tag people (workaround)
You can still tag people - it just happens after posting.
Here's the best way to do it:
- Create and publish your post from Latitude
- Go to LinkedIn
- Open your post
- Click Edit (or add a comment)
- Add your @mentions there
Once edited in LinkedIn, the tags will work normally.
Why this happens
LinkedIn controls how tagging works inside their platform, and it isn't currently available through the posting flow Latitude uses.
Your content still publishes correctly - tagging just needs to be added directly on LinkedIn.
What to do in the meantime
If tagging is important for your post:
Publish from Latitude first
- Then quickly edit on LinkedIn to add mentions
- Or include names in your post even without tagging
This keeps your workflow fast while still letting you loop people in.
What's coming
Support for @mentions is something we're actively working on and planned for release by the end of Q2 2026.
Still having trouble?
If something isn't behaving as expected, reach out to support and we'll help you figure it out.
One thing to keep in mind
Tagging can help with reach, but your content is what drives engagement.
Focus on getting your post out - you can always add mentions afterward.
